An individual Learner Profile has four tabs; Activities, Interests and Destinations, Questionnaires and Personal Information.
You can generate a learner report for each tab of the Learner Profile, then download this or email it directly to a learner.
This article walks you through the Interests and Destinations section and how to generate, download and share Interests and Destinations information via a Learner Report.

Recording Interests and Destinations
1. Log in to Compass+ with your email address and password - https://auth.careersandenterprise.co.uk/compassplus
2. Click on Learner > Current in the main navigation bar. (If you want to view this information for learners who have left your institution, click on Learner > Left in the main navigation bar.)
3. To search for an individual learner, enter their name in the search box in the top right of the screen. Click on "View profile" next to the learner’s name in the learner list to view their individual learner profile:
4. From here you can view the different sections of their profile using the Activities, Interests and Destinations, Questionnaires and Personal Information tabs. Select the "Interests and Destinations" tab:
The 'Interests and Destinations' tab is split into the following sections:

Consent
Use this section to record if a learner has consented to long term tracking.

Interests
Use this section to record the key subjects, industries and job roles that a learner is interested in. Just click the arrow at the side of the box, then select the relevant subjects, industries or job roles:
If a subject, industry or job role isn't on the drop-down list, you can enter your own. Just type it into the box and click "Create" to add it for future use.
- Post 16 Destinations

Post 18 Destinations
Use these sections to record a learner’s intended destinations at Post 16 and/or Post 18.
Select the + icon to 'show more' and enter detailed information into each field.
You can enter more than just preferred, second and third options by clicking "+ Add additional information":

Actual Destination
Use this section to record a learner’s actual destination after they leave your institution.

Alumni Contact Details
Use this section to record a learner's contact details, with their permission, so that they can be contacted once they have left your institution.:
Generating and downloading/emailing Interests and Destinations information
1. Click the "Generate learner report" button at the top right of the Interests and Destinations section, then select "Download learner report"
2. A pop-up box will display outlining a series of options where you can customise the learner report and select/deselect the information you wish to generate using the checkboxes down the left-hand side.
If you just want to generate Interests and Destinations information, make sure that only these boxes are ticked:
3. Once you have selected the information you want to generate, click 'Confirm' to download or 'Cancel' to close the pop-up.
4. The report will download as a PDF document straight into the 'Downloads' folder on your computer.
You can also choose to email the Interests and Destinations section directly to a learner, just select "Email learner report" from the "Generate learner report" drop-down instead:
- Enter the learners email address and then click confirm
- If you need to send the report to a different address for that learner, you can enter it here
- You must verify that the email belongs to the learner before doing this.
5. The pop-up box will display outlining a series of options where you can customise the learner report and select/deselect the information you wish to generate using the checkboxes down the left-hand side.
If you just want to generate Interests and Destinations information, make sure that only these boxes are ticked.
6. Once you have selected the information you want to include, click 'Confirm' to send the report or 'Cancel' to close the pop-up.
7. A green notification message will display at the top right of the screen to confirm that the learner report has been sent to the learner.
Adding notes from Post 16 Destinations, Post 18 Destinations and Alumni sections into the Learner Report
Free text notes from the Post 16 Destinations, Post 18 Destinations and Alumni sections of Interests and Destinations can be reviewed and edited from the Learner Profile, and included when generating a Learner Report.
Users should review ALL notes sections before including them in learner reports if they are not familiar with the content.
Notes from Post 16 Destinations and Post 18 Destinations
1. From the "Interests and Destinations" tab, tab scroll down to the relevant section - Post 16 Destinations or Post 18 Destinations
2. For Post 16 Destinations and Post 18 Destinations, view and amend free text notes that have been added to the Preferred option, Second option and Third option if applicable by expanding the relevant field . Click on ‘+’ icon to the right-hand side of the box:
3. Add or edit any text in "Notes":
- If you choose to include these notes in a learner report, to save space, only the first 100 words will be included
- If you wish to include Post 16 Destinations notes or Post 18 Destinations notes in a learner report, a message will pop-up asking you to confirm that you approve the sharing of this text directly with the learner
- Remember, any notes added here will be visible in the learner report, if you choose to include them.
4. Once you have added or edited existing notes, click on the green "Save all" button, which is locked at the top of the screen.
Notes from Alumni
1. From the "Interests and Destinations" tab, tab scroll down to the Alumni section
2. Add or edit any text in "Notes":
- If you wish to include Alumni contact information, including notes, in a learner report, a message will pop-up asking you to confirm that you approve the sharing of this text directly with the learner.
3. Once you have added or edited existing notes, click on the green 'Save all' button, which is locked at the top of the screen.
