Compass+ is a free digital product from The Careers & Enterprise Company with features that help you to measure impact and inform continuous improvement of your careers provision.
Compass+ enables you to manage, track, evaluate and report on your institution’s careers provision at individual learner level.
To do this, we use learner data from your institutions’ Management Information System (MIS) pulled through to Compass+ by a digital platform called Xporter.
Xporter is managed by our specialist partner Community Brands, most commonly known as Groupcall. We use Groupcall’s Xporter platform to manage the data feed between schools’ Management Information Systems and Compass+.
Compass+ also gives you access to the Future Skills Questionnaire (FSQ); a tool that has been designed to measure learners' career readiness. FSQ covers key aspects of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are important for successful transitions. Simple data insight can then support you to make targeted interventions, evaluate your careers programme and identify the impact of careers education in your setting.
Data from your MIS is used to allow you to send FSQ links directly to learners by email.
Sending FSQ links directly to learners by email
- To send FSQ links to learners, you must be using Xporter and have approved the use of learner email data in Compass+
- The use of learner email data within Compass+ will be fully controlled by you and you can choose to exclude this data at any time
- If you don't opt-out, learner emails will be included within Compass+ data automatically
- If you decide to opt-out at a later date, you can do this at any time from the Groupcall interface
- You can still use FSQ if you decide to exclude learner email data.
Whitelisting emails
To send FSQ links to learners by email, we need your IT/Data Manager to whitelist all emails from @careersandenterprise.co.uk. This will prevent FSQ emails to learners being blocked by your institution's email or IT system.
Managing learner email address permissions
You can manage your learner email data in the Groupcall interface by following these steps:
- Log in to the Groupcall interface
- On the left-hand menu, click on 'Data Sharing'
- Select 'Data sharing Dashboard'
- On the Xporter on Demand Apps page, select 'Careers and Enterprise'
- Click on the 'Sharing Permissions' tab
- On the right hand 'Configure Optional Fields' section, click on the blue 'Configure' button
- You will see HomeEmail and WorkEmail with a switch to enable or disable both fields.
Please note: all current learner email addresses must be captured in the WorkEmail or HomeEmail field in your MIS if you want to send questionnaires to learners from Compass+.
