Acting on user feedback, we’ve enabled a FSQ custom reporting feature that allows you to create your own FSQ custom reports.
As well as looking at specific year groups or form groups, you can now create reports for cohorts of learners or individual learners to assess what targeted interventions they might need in their careers learning journey.
1. Log in to Compass+ with your email address and password - https://auth.careersandenterprise.co.uk/compassplus
2. From the main navigation bar go to ‘Learner’, then ‘Questionnaire':
3. Click on the 'Custom Reporting' tab:
4. You will see the following filters to refine your reporting:
- Questionnaire type
- Academic Year
- FSQ Questions
The ‘Select Questionnaire type’ allows you to choose which questionnaire type you would like to report on:
- Starting secondary
- Transition from KS3
- GCSE years
- Post 16 Study
- SEND
The ‘Select Academic Year’ drop down allows you to choose which academic year you want to report for.
The ‘Select Questions’ filter is split into 2 sections; ‘Careers knowledge and skills’ and ‘Essential skills for life and work’.
The SEND version of the questionnaire has a third section; Career planning.
You can tick the overarching 'Select All' option to select every single question.
You can use the 'Select all questions in this section' button for individual sections:
You can select specific questions for each section.
If you select specific questions, the number of questions you have selected will show in the 'Select questions' box:
If another three questions are selected from the 'Essential skills for life and work' section, the total number of questions selected increases to 5:
This feature enables you to focus on specific learners or groups of learners who may have answered specific questions in a particular way and may need targeted support.
5. Once you have selected the questions you want to report on, the data is displayed in the table below.
Don't forget to scroll along the table, using the bar at the bottom of the screen, to view responses for each of the questions you have selected:
Please note: The first nine columns of the table will always display automatically.
6. Hover your mouse over the 'i' icon at the top of the question column to see the full wording of the question you have selected:
7. Use the up and down arrows at the top of each column to order learner responses.
8. Use the upside down triangle icon to select specific responses. A red dot will appear to show that additional filters have been applied:
This can be applied to all columns in the table.
By having filterable columns, you can refine their reports more precisely. For example, you can filter learner responses to show only negative or positive responses. For questions that do not have a negative or positive response, such as question 9, and may have multiple responses recorded, you can apply multiple filters to narrow the data shown in your report:
If you wish to clear your filters at any point, you can do so by clicking the ‘Reset Filters’ button at the top of the table:
9 When you’re happy that you’ve chosen the data you want to include in your custom report, you can download the table by clicking the green 'Actions' button at the top of the table and selecting 'Download report':
10. A pop-up message will appear, confirming the questionnaire type, academic year and questions you have selected for the report:
11. This report will download as an Excel spreadsheet straight into your 'Downloads' folder on your computer. The spreadsheet will show the full wording of each question and individual responses for each learner.
12. You can also create a custom group for the learners populated in the table for the current academic year. Once the table has been populated with the relevant data selected, just go to the ‘Actions’ button and select ‘Create custom group’ from the drop-down.
13. A pop-up box will appear where you can name the custom group, add/remove learners to the group and edit membership dates. When you're happy with the information you have entered, click the green 'Save' button at the bottom of the box:
