The upload feature explained in this article is not available to all users yet. As soon as the feature is released to all users, we will share this update with you here > Compass+ Updates and Developments and we will also notify Compass+ Champions.
Careers Partners is a safe, secure and scalable database where you can store all employers, organisations and providers that deliver careers activities to your learners.
Careers Partners are only accessible to you and other Compass+ users within your institution.

This Help Centre article walks you through how to upload Careers Partners into Compass+ using the Careers Partners Upload template.
You MUST use the template provided to enable this functionality to work correctly.
Uploading Careers Partners into Compass+
1. Log in to Compass+ using your email address and password - https://auth.careersandenterprise.co.uk/compassplus
2. From the main navigation bar go to Careers Partners > Your Careers Partners
3. Click the green "Actions" button at the top right of the screen, then select "Upload contact details" from the drop-down:
4. A pop-up box will appear, asking you to download the Excel template:
The template will download as an Excel spreadsheet straight into the 'Downloads' folder on your computer.
Open the spreadsheet and start populating it with contact details for all your Careers Partners...
The spreadsheet has two tabs: Organisation Details and Contact Details.
Organisation Details - this tab contains all the details about an organisation.
Please fill in as many fields as possible to ensure you have sufficient information about your providers and careers partners.
Certain fields are mandatory, if they are left blank, when you upload the spreadsheet back into Compass+ an error will occur in the system. Some columns contain drop-down lists, simply select the relevant value from the list. If you attempt to enter a value that isn't on the drop-down list, an error will occur.
Contact Details - this tab contains information about contacts from an organisation.
If you already have Careers Partners in Compass+, these will automatically populate as an existing organisation in the spreadsheet when you download the template.
To add a new contact to an existing organisation, you need to select the organisation from the drop-down list in the "Organisation Name" column then populate as many of the remaining columns as possible.
If your contact is not part of an organisation or is retired, please select either "not part of an organisation" or "retired" from the drop-down list in the Organisation Name column. You must also fill in Type, Sector, and Email as required fields for contacts who are either not part of an organisation or retired.
When assigning a Curriculum Area to a contact, you can only select one curriculum area from the drop-down list. Please select the most relevant area for the contact.

5. Once you have populated the spreadsheet, log back into Compass+, go back to "Your Careers Partners", click the green "Actions" button at the top right of the screen and select "Upload contact details" from the drop-down again.
6. From the pop-up, click the green "Select file" button to upload the template that you have just populated:
7. Select the relevant file from your computer and click "Open" to upload this into Compass+.
8. When the file has uploaded, you will either be notified that it has uploaded successfully or you will be notified of any errors or warnings that need your attention.
- If there are lots of errors or warnings, you can view the full list by clicking the expand arrow to the right of the pop-up:
- Some warnings contain links in the help message. If you want to correct the data immediately after uploading, just click on these links. They will take you to the "Edit Careers Partner" form, where you can amend all the necessary details:
Please note: There is a significant difference between errors and warnings.
Warnings - Data will still be updated within your Careers Partners database but you will be prompted to correct it in Compass+
Errors - If your file contains an error, the data you entered will not be updated. In this case, you must correct the file and upload it again.
9. Once you have completed all the necessary fixes, click the green "Confirm" button to complete the upload process.
10. Once you have uploaded the file successfully, you will see how many organisations and/or contacts have been uploaded to your Careers Partners database.
