Viewing Custom groups.
1. Log in to Compass+ using your email address and password - https://auth.careersandenterprise.co.uk/compassplus
2. From the main navigation bar go to ‘Activities’, then ‘Groups':
3. All of your groups are listed here. Use the 'Group type' filter to view a range of groups you have created, including filters for Teaching Group, Year Group, Form and Characteristics. You can also use the search field to search for a particular group :
Compass+ has five types of group:
- Year groups (blue lozenge)
- Form groups (green lozenge)
- Teaching groups (red lozenge)
- Characteristics groups (purple lozenge)
- Custom groups (black lozenge).
Year, Form and Teaching groups are fed into Compass+ via your institution’s MIS. These groups are updated overnight when Compass+ receives an update from your MIS.
Characteristics groups are groups that encompass learners that are characterised as FSM, Pupil Premium, English as an additional language (EAL) and SEN eligible.
Custom groups are groups that a Compass+ user has created. They can contain any number of learners, taken from any year/Key Stage. To learn more about creating a custom group, please see How to create a Custom group.
Viewing learners in a Year, Form, Teaching or Characteristics group.
To view the learners in a Year, Form, Teaching or Characteristics group, click on the eye icon in the Actions column:
A pop-up window will display all of the learners in the group.
You can search for a specific learner using the search box:

To view learners in a Custom group, click on the pencil icon in the Actions column:

Viewing a group’s activities.
To view a group’s activities, click on the View activities icon in the Actions column:
A pop-up window will display all of the activities (planned and completed) assigned to the group:
Editing and deleting groups (Year, Form, Teaching or Characteristics groups).
Year, Form, Teaching or Characteristics groups are created via your institution’s MIS, and cannot be edited or deleted manually in Compass+. Any changes to the learners within a group will be reflected through the nightly data feed from your MIS.
Learners can however be manually removed from Year, Form, Teaching or Characteristics groups at an activity level. To learn more about how to edit a group’s learners participating in an activity, please see How to view or edit your Activities.
