What is Gatsby Benchmark 1?
Gatsby Benchmark 1 (GBM1) asks you to evaluate whether your institution has a stable careers programme. In Compass+, a form asks you when you plan to achieve certain criteria by. You can also add notes to each of the criteria to help you monitor your institution’s progress.
Note: creating an activity for Benchmark 1 is different to Benchmarks 2-8, as you do not need to assign learners to the activity (to learn how to create activities for the other Benchmarks, please see How to create an activity (GB 2-8).

Creating an activity for Gatsby Benchmark 1
To create an activity for Benchmark 1, select Plans > Create New Activity on the navigation bar:
A pop-up window will ask you to select which Benchmark you wish to create the activity for. Select ‘Benchmark 1’, then click on ‘Create Activity’:
A form lists a series of criteria that contribute to Benchmark 1. Enter dates in the ‘Achieve by’ column, and any notes you wish to add:
When you have finished entering data, click on ‘Save activity to plan’:
You can edit your Benchmark 1 activity at any time: for instance, you may want to change the dates by which criteria will be achieved, or add extra notes.
