Compass+ has a series of tools available to help you view and analyse your Future Skills Questionnaire data. These are accessed via the tabs towards the top of the Questionnaires screen.
Summary report
Click on Summary report and you will see a high-level aggregated view of all the question responses for each questionnaire type:
Firstly, we can see the total number of questionnaires that have been submitted for that questionnaire type:
The second percentage figure is the percentage of questions within the questionnaire type that are being answered positively. (note that the answer of ‘Not sure’ is counted as a negative response):
Below this, we can drill down and view the total percentage of students who have responded positively or negatively to each question. You can look at the data for individual year groups by using the dropdown:
You can also chose to view data from particular sections of your chosen questionnaire, by using the first dropdown at the top of the screen, and sort your data either by question number, which is the default view, or by which questions received the most positive responses:
Detailed report
The third tab at the top of the screen shows a detailed report of your Future Skills questionnaire data, and allows you to delve deeper into the data provided by specific year groups or cohorts:
The chart on the left allows you to see groups of students responding largely negatively, largely positively, or those with largely mixed responses. For instance, in this example, if we click on the mostly negative group, we can see the two students who responded mostly negatively to the questions, and plan our provision for them accordingly:
Note that the dropdowns above the chart allow you to filter your data by questionnaire section, questionnaire type or year group:
The chart to the right of the screen enables you to drill down into the responses for each question. You can choose to highlight the questions where percentage bands of students did not answer positively, or choose to only compare the percentage responses for students from particular cohorts, such as those with Pupil Premium or SEN status:
Filtering allows you to view the percentage responses from a single cohort, for instance just the boys or just the girls:
Again, the three dropdown menu here allows you to identify which groups might need more targeted help, so you can plan your provision appropriately.
Once you have identified a group that you want to investigate further, you can click on the bar to receive a further breakdown showing how the percentage score is constituted from the answers available:
Click on an answer, and the students who chose that answer will be shown beneath the first chart:
