If your school’s legal status changes, for example if you join a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) this will trigger a change in the school’s URN (Unique Reference Number.)
If your school has a new URN, we need to transfer the Compass+ records from your old URN to your new URN so that Compass+ can continue to work properly.
This transfer must be completed before Compass+ can be used.
When a new URN is detected, Compass+ will no longer allow Editors and Viewers to login until an Admin has completed this transfer.
You’ll know your school’s URN has changed if you go to log in to Compass + and you see the 'Your institution has a new URN' box highlighted in red.
Transferring your Compass + account
Completing the transfer will move all Compass+ related data, such as activities and FSQ data, from the old URN to the new URN.
To complete the form, Admins will:
- Confirm the school’s MIS (Management Information System) by selecting the MIS from the drop-down list
- Provide the contact details for the school’s IT Manager; first name, surname and email address
- Use the 'Manage users' screen to make sure that only current users are transferred over to the new URN
- Tick the box to confirm that the list of users is correct, that they have authority to complete the transfer and that they have read the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Notice
- Click ‘Update Now’.
The process will take a few minutes and a message will show to confirm it has completed. Then all users can access the product again.
If there is a problem with the transfer, a message will show asking the Admin to contact the Customer Service Team at compassplus@careersandenterprise.co.uk.
Users will be able to continue using the product under the old URN until the transfer is complete.
